The Junior Youth Group of Temple Beth El was launched in the Spring of 2014 and, in almost no time, has grown to become a loving, enthusiastic, and bonded community of Jewish middle school students who share friendship, camaraderie, a whole lot of fun, and an inspiring vision for Tikkun Olam. The Group is happily co-led by two Moms who created an exciting calendar of monthly events, including a school’s out pool party to kick off summer; ice-skating in July; an awesome spaghetti supper and evening of improv and board games at TBE; a Sukkot Shabbat Camp Night Under the Stars; a Family Field Day with “kids vs. parents” relay races, kick-ball, and water-balloon competitions; two overnight “Lock-ins” at the Temple (including one for Hanukah where we shared a Havdalah Service, watched movies, made yummy jelly donuts and scrumptious challah from scratch, and talked and laughed until the wee hours of the night); trips to Zoomers and SkyZone; a scavenger hunt and Purim Carnival; and an original Passover Play performed by our Youth Group members which garnered rave reviews from parents, the Rabbi, and the congregation-at-large.
If you are a parent or guardian of a Jewish middle schooler in the Southwest Florida community, we would be super excited to have your child join us. You do not have to be a member of our Temple to participate in Youth Group. If you want to be a part of our fun group, or know of any Jewish middle schoolers who might, just send us an email and we’ll get you started with our calendar and evites to events! We’d love to hear from you!
