There’s a Talmudic story that tells of a man who planted a carob tree. Asked when he thought the tree would bear fruit, he replied. “After 70 years.” Asked whether he expected to live that long, he responded. “I did not find the world desolate when I entered it, and as others planted before me, so do I plant for those who will come after me.”
Will you please join me in planting for the future by signing and implementing a Declaration of Commitment? At no present cost to me, I have arranged for a legacy gift to Temple Beth El. I have done so because I believe in our congregational community. I believe in its mission of making Jews and sustaining Judaism here in Fort Myers and throughout Lee County. I believe in TBE as the center of Judaism for me and my family – a place to worship, a place to expand our religious knowledge, and a place to gather and a place to celebrate.
I am heartened by the knowledge that long after I am gone, my legacy will create a stronger and more vibrant synagogue. I know that many of you share my wish to make such a lasting contribution to benefit TBE for generations to come. Begin this coming New Year by making your commitment to Temple Beth El and become a member of The King David Society. Remember Temple Beth El in your estate plans and be remembered for your thoughtful generosity.
