Religious School News

When this article reaches your homes, we will be well into the beginning of summer!  I hope that all of you are enjoying your well-needed summer break.  It is so hard to believe that I have just completed my eleventh year as Religious School Director of Temple Beth El.  The Religious School has undergone a variety of changes over the years.  I am thrilled to announce that this year, we have has our highest attendance record to date.  I do look forward to many more years here at Temple Beth El, as this job is not only a labor of love, but also a commitment to our faith and to our children.  We are a mishpacha (family) at TBE, and that is what makes us such a special place.

The success of the Religious School is attributed to many people.  Rabbi Barras continues to be a superb asset as well as Betty Massie, Karen Kagan, Tracie Hurley, The Education Committee, our wonderful teaching staff, and volunteers.  Without the dedication, loyalty, and love for the children, we wouldn’t have the well-oiled machine that we have.  There is a tremendous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, and that is the result in our programming of special events and activities for the children.  We are continually striving to imbue the children with strong Jewish identities that will carry them successfully through life.

In the next week, you will be receiving your registration forms for the 2010/2011 school year.  Please fill them out at your earliest convenience so that we can order the appropriate amount of books and materials for the children.  Your continued cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Our first day of Religious School will be on Sunday, September 12, 2010.
We will all look forward to seeing on the first day, for yet again another wonderful year at TBE Religious School!

We would like to congratulate our June B’nai Mitzvah students:
•    Kirby and Mason Wilhelm  - June 12, 2010.
•    Justin Weiner – June 19, 2010.
We are so proud of all our students and wish them much mazel on one of the most meaningful days of their lives!

We would like to wish all of you a happy and a safe summer, and look forward to seeing all of you back in September!
B’Ezrat Hashem,

Dale  M. Cohen, R.J.E.
Religious School Director

From the Desk of Dale Cohen
We had a wonderful last day of Religious School on Sunday, May 17, 2009.  It was a pleasure honoring all of our teachers, assistants, and volunteers.  A special Todah Rabah to Betty Massie and Lorrie Goldsmith for all of their hard work and dedication over the year and making the day so wonderful!

We are truly blessed here at Temple Beth El Religious School with such a wonderful staff of employees.  I would like to wish all of the children and their families a happy and safe summer.  Please look out for the registration materials that will be sent out in a couple of weeks.  Please fill them out and get them back to me at your earliest convenience.  As always, your continued cooperation is greatly appreciated!

We look forward to seeing all of you back in September.

TBE Religious School PTO

Dear Parents: The PTO is busy with plans to end this year and planning upcoming events for next school year. I am very excited about our new PTO committee and all the positive aspects this brings to our PTO.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Exodus Walk. It takes a lot of teamwork and effort to make these events happen and as usual our PTO parents always come through.

The following parents and families donated to this event and I thank you very much:

Lani Laboda, Karen Rabinowitz, Kavitha Taschner, Nicole Rubin, Mark Loren, Kagan family
Neida White, Dale Cohen, Kathy Eskin, Tami Traiger, Jaime Weisinger, Amy Markovich,
Amy Shinbaum, Wendy Kray, Lonni Howington, Laura Waks, Hunter Goldsmith,
Hannah Goldsmith, Michele Laboda, Dana Baldinger, Judy Goldstein, Emilia Lumar,
Ilene Whitesman, Tracie Hurley, and Betty Massie!!!

This month we end another successful year helping TBE Religious School. Sunday, May 17th is the last day of religious school and we are planning a special year-end party for the children. We would like all parents to plan to stay on this last day of school. We will have a teacher appreciation ceremony beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. If you would like to do something special for your child’s teacher, this would be a great opportunity for you to do so.

SAVE THE DATE – Friday, June 5, 2009. We will be honoring Dale Cohen for 10 years of service to Temple Beth El and our children. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend services. If you are interested in helping with the Oneg celebration please contact me at 275-1010 or mrsdosurg@hotmail.com.

Thank you again for all your support this past school year. Beth El parents are the BEST!!!
— Lorrie Goldsmith, PTO President Temple Beth El Religious School
