Jewish Value: Supporting Those in Need, Taking care of the body
Description: We will be creating toiletries kits for the ACT women and children’s shelters in Ft Myers. ACT provides life skills and a supportive residential environment to break the cycle of domestic violence. Help us fill regular pillow cases with travel sized toiletries and add a hand-made card of support. This is the perfect project for families with young children.
Donations needed: regular size pillow cases, washcloths, travel size shampoo, tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, baby soap, sock-slippers
    Golisano Baby Welcome Kits

Description: Help us assemble “Baby Welcome Kits” to be distributed through Children’s Hospital to families as they welcome their newborns. Please plan to bring 1-2 small baby toys (under $10) that may be new or gently used (and clean).
Donations needed: newborn diapers, diaper cream, newborn bottles, baby washcloths, baby soap
    Golisano Pediatric Craft Kit

Description: We will be decorating and assembling gift bags of arts & crafts supplies that pediatric patients can use to keep busy while in the hospital. We will also decorate cards and write messages of encouragement to add to the bags.
Donations needed: small boxes of crayons/markers/colored pencils, small blank notebooks, 2 packages value pack white or beige (50 cards/envelopes), one package brown lunch bags

Greeting Cards for Israeli Soldiers, Vets and Children in the hospital

Description: Create original greeting cards. Helpers will guide children in creating original works of art on greeting cards. Adults and teens also welcome to participate. Bring smock or wear clothes appropriate for arts and crafts. Donations needed: Israeli, Veteran/American service and Children themed stickers and decorations at add to cards. Also 3-4 Value packs white or beige cards and envelopes ( 50 sets/pack)

    TBE Outdoor Spruce-Up

Description: Come to our own back (and front!) yard to do grounds clean up, weeding and watering. Do your part to help sustain our community garden. Bring your work gloves, rakes, clippers, biodegradable lawn bags and your refillable water bottle! We will be planting butterfly host plants and more.
    TBE Jewish Cemetery

Off-site: Garden of Memories Cemetery 3200 Michigan Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida
Jewish Value: Honoring the Deceased, compassion, proper behavior
Description: We have the only Temple owned cemetery in Lee County and is located within the City of Fort Myers Cemetery. Join the confirmation class and Rabbi and visit this sacred place and learn about the Mitzvot and traditions for burying and honoring the deceased. We will be cleaning the  headstones and doing general grounds cleanup. The cemetery is peaceful, and children truly love this project. Please consider bringing them. What to bring: a bucket, a stiff brush, LOTS of old cloths, gardening gloves, rakes, gardening shears for bush trimming, biodegradeable lawn bags, and mild dish detergent.

    Kindness & Peace Memorial Stones

Jewish Value: Compassion, Honoring the deceased, Respect, Nurturing Community support of grieving building community.
Description: With artists to assist and encourage, you can design and decorate a beautiful memorial rock with the option to place it in our memorial garden. Story telling of your memories encouraged. We anticipate this art & conversation will develop into a long-term opportunity for Grieving support at our Temple going forward.

Description: Blood donation thought One Blood. Blood is made up of four main components. Red blood cells, platelets, plasma and white blood cells. Each whole blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives.
    Berny's Kitchen Knife Sharpening

    Health Park Origami Cranes

Jewish Value: Visiting the sick, building the Community
 Description: Help us construct Origami cranes to be brought to Health Park as part of the National Crane Project model. Once 1000 cranes are collected they will be strung into rows of 50, and then attached 20 strings to a wreath base, placed horizontally, to create a mobile of 1000 which can be hung from the ceiling. Cranes will then be installed in the pediatric cancer center.

    Gulf Coast Humane Society Training

Description: We are invited to the GC Humane Society to spend time with staff and caring for the animals including holding and soothing kittens, cats, puppies and dogs. We can learn the requirements and practice the skills to become a permanent volunteer.

Description: We will be preparing bag lunches for the Community Cooperative, our local partner striving to alleviate hunger and homelessness. In Lee County, 1 in 6 residents are in need of food assistance.
Donations needed:Bread, peanut butter, jelly, apples, carrot packages, single serving cracker or chips, single serving cookie packet or other dessert, lunch bags, napkins and baggies.
