2019 High Holy Day Appeal

Every New Year brings with it a review of past experiences but more importantly feelings of hope, expectation, and new goal setting for the future. Temple Beth El and our membership has grown and evolved during the past year. Your Governance Committee and operating committees have been hard at work in order to create 5780 as a year of further growth and refinement.

Input from our members has been gratifying, and together we have established a new culture of family and togetherness. We are now updated and informed about religious and social activities through Shul cloud, our committee structure has been updated and improved, membership has increased, safety has been continually addressed and improved, and professional review and systems of accountability are now parts of our weekly discussions.

Transparency and dissemination of information is paramount if we are to further prosper and grow. Hopefully, the minutes of the weekly Governance Committee meetings have been met with interest and served this purpose.

We all know and understand that operation of our congregation does not come without cost and expense. It has taken the better part of a year to review and overhaul our financial systems. Internal efforts as well as outside support was employed to accomplish this laborious task. Fortunately, we can now present accurate financial data.

One time expenses, mandated by Lee county ordinance, have depleted our financial reserves and daily operation costs have also risen. We have provided weekly updates regarding the vegetation behind the sanctuary and to date, we have spent $85,000 to avoid penalties from noncompliance.

So there you have it, Temple Beth El needs all its members to help with this years fund raising
efforts. Funds for both ongoing operation as well as completing the vegetation project are needed. Together, we are making a difference. We look forward to 5780 with great excitement and expectation.
