Mitzvah Committee
The Mitzvah Committee works to put several core Jewish values into action: Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, Gemilut Chassadim, acts of loving kindness, and Derekh Eretz, the code of behavior that binds us together as people and as Jews.
We identify, coordinate and pursue volunteer opportunities to perform mitzvot to benefit members of our local community and the world beyond. Our committee focuses on creating a truly diverse community, including disability awareness, acceptance and inclusion. We plan and coordinate an annual Mitzvah Day and sponsor regular social action and educational programs throughout the year, including the collection of food and feminine hygiene supplies for those in need, and programs that support mental health issues.
All are welcome to join. Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m.
