Small Group Initiative
Temple Beth El’s Small Group Initiative allows members of our community who share common interests, identities and curiosity to come together for meaningful conversation, relevant learning, enjoying shared activities, sharing Jewish experiences, putting Jewish values into action, and deepening connection. Groups are lay-led and open to congregants. Consider joining a current or developing Small Group.
Have an idea for a Small Group?
Groups might focus on a topic of support, learning, or a Jewish experience. Others might be about sports, making crafts, attending arts events, and more - it’s completely up to you.
If you are interested in gathering a segment of our community around an area of passion, we will guide you through the process of designing your new group. All new group leaders will be offered training and one-on-one support. To get started, contact the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee at russtbe@gmail.com.
The goal of the Solo Travelers group is that no one should ever feel alone at Temple Beth El. Members of the group suggest and coordinate informal get- togethers both in conjunction with synagogue activities and outside the synagogue. The group is open to all members and prospective members of Temple Beth El who often attend activities alone.

Climate changes and environment concerns can make us feel overwhelmed and unsure how to help. We experience intensive hurricanes and wildfires, persistent harmful red tide and algae blooms, gradual sea level rise and saltwater intrusion. As Jews, we are obligated to take action. Our goal is to empower Temple members to engage in solutions to positively impact climate change. We envision the flourishing world we are required to leave for future generations. Let’s decide our environmental future direction, our Kivvun La’Atid, together.
